The theory of blog reflexivity

As most bloggers know, 90 percent of all blogs entries are about blogs. To wit, I submit: A friend recently started a blog about the New York theatre community. A skillful and insightful writer he is, but being new to the blogging community, he was unaware of the interactive nature of blogs. That is to say, he didn't know people could post retorts to his exhortations anonymously.

Upon reading a dissenter's snarky comment, he was non-plussed. "He should get his own blog, damn it!"

It has been eight months since my last confession. In that time, I've committed all of the seven deadly sins and even invented three or four new ones. I've always thought it better to create than to destroy.

In that time, I have had a second baby. Actually, my wife had the baby. Frankly, she did most of the work. I was mostly in an advice and consent role. Luckily, no fillibusters prevented the appointment of Jacob Alexander Caney into the gene pool. Good luck, kid. It's all downhill from here.
