A living room in suburban New Jersey. A television blares children's programming upstage. Center stage is a couch. Father, mid thirties, and Daughter, age 4, are wrestling playfully on the couch. Daughter bites Father.

Father: Zoe! You may not bite your father. What happens when you bite?
Daughter: (ruefully) I get a time out?
Father: That's right, young lady.
Daughter sulks for a moment, then smiles at Father.
Daughter: I wasn't biting. I was nibbling.
Father looks defeated. Wonders how soon before Daughter goes into politics.
